TO THE BRAVEST MOTHER
When I came in to this world
You were one of the happiest.
God gave me you as my mother
I considered myself the luckiest.
As I grew up you're still beside me
Provides all the things I need.
You lift me up when I am down
Puts a smile on my face and removes the frown.
You are one of the best blessings I ever got.
Your love to me, I never forgot.
Those wonderful things you've done to me,
Make you mean more to me a lot.
You've sacrificed for me so many times.
And now I think it's payback time.
You're growing old, how fast time flies.
I'll make you happy, I won't make you cry.
Where Rainbows End by Cecelia Ahern
The story is about Rosie, a person
who became a mother at an early age and her bestfriend Alex. The lessons that I
learned on the story is that true love waits, and love conquers all. In the
story, Rosie and Alex became separated because Alex’s family moved from Dublin
to Boston. Because of it, the communication that they had with each other was
hard. Also, Rosie became pregnant but the father is not Alex. However, in the
end, they managed to overcome all of these difficulties and they became
together. Just like in the story, we should learn to wait for our true love,
and if we finally found him, we should do our best to not let that person go,
despite the circumstances that they have to face. I have a relative who did everything to be with the one she loves. Her parents do not agree with their relationship because they think that she is too good for the guy. However, she did not obey her parents’ will and she continued her relationship with her boyfriend because she knows that she will find true happiness with the guy and she believes that they guy is her soul mate. In the end, her parents finally approved of their relationship because they saw how passionate they are with their love for each other.
I was just curious if what would happen if Rosie would continue the abortion instead of letting her child live? I also want to know if how would Alex react if he was the father of Rosie’s child? Will he take the responsibility of being a father or will he runaway just like what most men do nowadays especially the young men who wasn't that prepared of being a father.
The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
The story is about Hazel and Augustus,
two people diagnosed with cancer who met while meeting in a cancer patients’
support group. Together, they realized the importance of time and they spent
their remaining days meaningfully with each other. The lesson of the story is
that life is short and we should enjoy every second of it. In the story, both
characters are suffering from deadly diseases and no one really knows when they
will die. I learned from it that we should not waste our time here in this
world because we don’t know what will happen in our lives.
Way back in my high school days, I
have this teacher in accounting who was diagnosed with kidney failure. Every
week, he is undergoing dialysis at Marbel which also caused him to have
financial problems. But that didn't stop him from going on with life. He told us many times that if you still can, just live your life to the fullest. Everybody will experience death. No one escapes from it. Having an illness doesn't stop him from praising God. In fact, his faith to Him grew bigger and stronger. He once told me this, "Karmel, if it's your time, it will be your time. Everything happens for a reason. If we don't understand it now, maybe later He'll show us the answers to our questions." I was moved by what he said. How can he accept death that easy? Is he thinking about what would his family feel if he dies? Is he that prepared to leave his wife and daughter? If I were on his shoes, I would probably weep every day and night asking God why of all people, it's me whom he has chosen to suffer with that deadly illness. But look at him. He was a brave man who wholeheartedly accept death and I admire him for that.
I was just curious if what would happen
if the main characters became very depressed with their situations and because
of it they ended their lives? I also would like to know if what would happened
if the main characters become cured of their sickness? Will they be able to
marry each other and be happy with their lives? Will they have many children?
I can predict that in the story, Hazel
will accept the death of Augustus and she will continue living, albeit without
him. However, she will also die after a short while because her disease will
become worse and her body will not be able to keep up with the disease. And
then after her death, their souls would meet again in heaven and there, they
will be together forever – away from the pains that they have suffered in their
past lives.
The Count of Monte Cristo (part 2)
Dear Alexander Dumas,
Greetings!
I just want to
say to you that your novel, The Count of Monte Cristo, was really fun to read
and its story about revenge is interesting. It was really nice to see the
different interactions of the characters and how their actions were motivated
by their desires and ambitions in life, even to the point of causing harm to
others.
Also, even
though the story was quite dark and depressing at times, it has given me hope
in life. The main character in the story really suffered a lot of bad things in
life, but because of it, it makes me root for him even more and when he finally
achieved what he wanted, I was happy for him. Your story made me believe again
that there are always second chances, and that we, the people, should just look
for them.
You definitely
made a story worth reading and I definitely want to read more of your works.
Sincerely yours,
Karmel
